On day one of my journey I find
myself at Taqueria Santa Cruz Express with my roommates Sam and Zoe, and our
friend Ryan. Taqueria is a frequent place for us to eat out at as roommates as it
has some great breakfast burritos (the best? Who knows, stick around and find
out). Since we are all so similar with Taqueria, it seemed like a fitting place
to start the journey. After a run and hot shower, roommate Zoe took the initiative
and called in our order ahead of time so we didn’t have to spend time at the restaurant
(we’re introverts). God bless Zoe. Taqueria has three different variations of
breakfast burritos: ham, bacon, and chorizo. Sam and I ordered the chorizo, Zoe
ordered the bacon, and Ryan ordered the ham. Roommate Sam drove the four of us
to Taqueria as I played his Pokemon go in the passenger seat, the new shotgun responsibility.
Upon arrival we not only encountered a Rattata but also a warm familiar aroma of
Mexican food that only Taqueria could provide. Some say that Taqueria is the
best Mexican restaurant in San Luis Obispo, but that is for a different sole to
blog about, I am only concerned about their breakfast burritos. After tax priced at $7.56
Taquria breakfast burritos also come with complimentary chips and salsa, a
wonderful compliment to the burrito. The establishment is on the small side,
which can cause cramping issues during high demand hours, but Taqueria also has
outdoor seating which is very nice during the perpetually warm San Luis Obispo weather.
After we got our burritos Sam drove us home so we could eat our burritos in the
comfort of our house while watching Arrested
Development. As each of us took our first bites we were reminded of the
warm familiar tastes of Taqueria burritos. These burritos are unique in the
sense they have a Mexican spin to them, filled with refried beans, rice,
cheese, your choice of meat, and yummy goodness it always brings a smile to my
face and fills me up. During my preliminary research at Taqueria I was never
able to finish one of their breakfast burritos but I am happy to say today that
I have grown as a connoisseur and I finished it all. On average we vote
Taqueria as a 4.5/5 for taste, a 4/5 for atmosphere, and a 4.5/5 for price.
Stay tuned for the next breakfast burrito,
until then, eat on, my fans.
Lots of Love,
